After we had descended the mountain, and after I had eaten some real food once down and back into, more or less, civilization, I was beginning to feel like my usual self again. Karu, as usual, was full of energy and wanted to see everything in this part of the world. We spotted some ruins off in the distance and, even before I had a chance to digest my food, we were off once again.
We came upon a big pyramid type thingy and Karu was eager to climb up to the top and explore what looked like an opening from where we stood.
Me: “Umm. It’s pretty high up, you know.”
Karu: “Yup!”
Me: “Umm. You know I don’t like heights.”
Karu: “Yup!”
Me: “Umm. You’re gonna drag me up there anyways, right.”
Karu: “Yup!”
Then she looked at me and smiled only the way she can smile.
Me: “Oki, fine. We’re going!”
